The headlights are meant to come on with the sidelights and the ignition on, this is called dim-dip. The sidelight bulbs should come on too, they often have corrosion on the plugs that stops them from working.

The horn could be due to corroded terminals and wiring too, or if it is a 1.9 with air horns there is a relay that could have failed.

The sidelights and headlights use the same earth point so if the main bulb is working it isn't likely to be the earth.

When you replaced the horn live terminal what did the copper wire look like? If it was dull, black or green then it is useless, it needs to be bright, shiny and gold coloured. If it is corroded cut a short amount off and see if it is better and keep cutting it back until you get to good wire, you might have to go back a fair way! The sidelight wiring might need the same treatment too.

The wire on the horn was a mix of dark copper and shiney copper i cut it back an inch and put a new connector on should the horn relay click like the headlight relay ????

The horn relay should click, if it doesn't you might have a faulty relay or it could be the button on the stalk.
