Bringing Out Of 3 Year Hibernation 95K 1600 Gti

Recommended Posts

In a few weeks bringing out of hibernation my 91 205 Gti 1600.

I have a problem with running very rough when hot which my mechanic tells me is likely to be the coolant temp sensor as I've tried all the obvious things except changing afm.

Assuming he's correct and fixes it what else should I get him to do?

Already done : spark plugs, leads, oil + filter.

Getting done: Cambelt & waterpump, new exhaust ( old one blowing ) & obviously anything that crops up on the mot.

I was thinking of getting the valve stem seals done it doesn't smoke yet though but maybe imminent &

Fuel filter.

I would change all fluids and check things like brake pipes, belts, coolant hoses, tyres, along with the rear axle.
