Vauxhall Corsa 2004 Key (Daughters Car)

Not 205 related for a change! but does anyone work for Vauxhall or a sensibly priced key supplier. Need a spare doesn't have to be remote but does need to be a chipped programmed key. I have the original key number etc... cheapest online seems to be £50-60.... or £90 from Vauxhall and £135 for a remote version ouch! Many thanks

Your online price seems not bad - the only other way I would have thought (which is a bodge) is to have a random chipped key recoded and then get a non-chipped key cut. As long as the chipped key is on the same key ring, you might get away with it. Makes 50 quid for a proper key seem okay value by the time you get a random key recoded.

 

I recall aftermarket alarms sometimes had the chip fixed inside the steering cowling to disable the OEM system and allow the new system to function unhindered - particularly for remote starting features where the key wouldn't be in the ignition. Was a bit surprised by that...

Cheers Brian, yeah think I will go with the £50 ish that seems to be the norm for a standard chipped key... I've got one more good contact to try but think I will have to just bite the good old bullet!!
