Recommended Posts

on converting my 1.6 xu5 309 to twin 40 webers and run into a problem. the o/s carb wont fit due to the alternator and the manifold is catching on the alternator bracket? am i missing something here? is their an easy way around it? the car previously had power steering so is there any diffrence between the pas and non pas alternator brackets?

thanks Rob

You've already worked it out, you need a non-pas alternator bracket.

you will probably have to grind some alloy from a non power steering bracket as well - but its a shame to ruin a power steering bracket and the non version is lighter/smaller
