Engine Keep Stalling.. Help!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

i recently rewired the whole engine after it was running very rough i remove the engine loom , cleaned all contact and tested and repaired it. i tried to start the engine for the first time and it running but engine keep stalling if i don't push the gas paddle.

other problem : when i put the key in and move it to ACC mode, the oil pressure gauge is moving to max and when i start the car it goes to zero and the light inside the gauge illuminated. is that mean that i have bad oil pressure sender?

i have the haynes workshop manual and i did the test for the whole system and here are the results:

MAF :

18A wire on the connector - 0.225v should be above 9v when starting the engine.

18M wire on the connector to ground - 513 Ohm should be less than 1 ohm.

5 + 8 terminal resistance - 398.4 ohm - GOOD

9 + 8 terminal resistance - 217.8 ohm - GOOD

7+5 terminal resistance when moving the MAF flap jump from 134 ohm to 1.3Kohm but it jump to hundreds of Kohm in the middle - i don't know if it good or not.

ECU temp sensor

resistance to ground of terminal 2 is 0.9 ohm - GOOD.

resistance between terminal 1 and 2 is 1.83Kohm - GOOD.

the SAD i will test tomorrow.

here is my spart plugs , the middle two spark plugs was dipped in oil - the hole which they were in the block was filled with oil when i remove the HT leads.

what can i test to cure the rough idle.

thanks

Ido

Anthony

The wires for the oil pressure gauge and low oil pressure switch are the wrong way around - swap them over and the gauge and light will work correctly.

That guide to AFM testing is for a porsche motronic part but it explains why your meter is jumping about meaninglessly.
