Alpine Cd Changer Draining Battery

Recommended Posts

Luke

I'm not sure if anyone on here can help but worth a shot. My Alpine CD changer is draining the battery. I've tested the drain on the battery with with it plugged in and not and it's definitely the CD changer only. The head unit is fine.

I've unplugged it for now but has anyone seen this before and have a solution?

Head Unit: Alpine IDA-X305S

CD Changer: Alpine CHA-S634

I presume the cd changer gets its power from the head unit? In which case it could still be a head unit problem?

Yes, the changer just plugs in to the back of at head unit. It may just be a setting in the head unit but I can't find it

The head unit doesn't power on with the ignition off but it must be on a permanent live if the changer is drawing current.

I'll check it out at the weekend. It's too dark when I get home from work!
