madspikes 41 1 Cars Posted December 5, 2014 I have searched and searched but still can't find the answer to this seemingly simple question. GTi red stripes what paint code / closest match from halfords or online supplier? I can't 100% work out if they are Matt or a shiny finish. Thanks, Clive

S@m 156 Posted December 5, 2014 First thing that came to mind for me was this; http://michaelrolls.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/RedStripe.jpg Not very helpful, i know.
wicked 103 3 Cars Posted December 5, 2014 It sprayed mine with Rouge Vallelunga p3kb and thick layer of clear coat. It's the color of the red 205 gti's. I don't know if it's the original color, but looking at red 205's it's pretty close. A good layer of clear coat will make them shine more that the original ones. madspikes 41 1 Cars Posted December 5, 2014 Should it be shiny?
boldy205 74 Posted December 5, 2014 Its a satin finish I think.
dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted December 5, 2014 Are you recolouring trims or do yours just look tired? I gave mines a Red T-cut (that i found in the boot of a GTI in a scrappies) followed by a coat of wax, and a coat of Autoglym Gloss protector and they came up fandabbydozie. wicked 103 3 Cars Posted December 5, 2014 Its a satin finish I think. Indeed they are; I have new stripe that is satin, almost matt. However, with a good gloss it looks better imho...
Dizzee stuff 33 1 Cars Posted December 5, 2014 I took my strips to a paint place they colour matched & mixed the paint and put it in rattle cans, looks good.
madspikes 41 1 Cars Posted December 5, 2014 (edited) I am straighting out some of the strips, and they require and small amount of filling. Edited December 5, 2014 by madspikes
mrfirepro 127 1 Cars Posted December 5, 2014 Not sure if it's actually the right code but I used P3KB (same as my car) and they came up like this and this is the OE strip now fitted close up the OE is a much flatter finish, but strangely didn't look out of place on the car with the side trims being OE, but colour wise I think it's very close
