Cheap Gti6 With Tbs, Advice Please?

Recommended Posts

Robbiedundy

Hey. Currently in the middle of a project, converting my 205 GTi into a GTi6. A '306 GTi6 ph1 with tbs, stage 3 omex ecu, 195bhp with print out' has come up for sale near me. Need some advice on going to look at it wwith the possibility of buying it as a donor. What are things to look out for that the throttle bodies etc have been set up correctly. How much would you be looking at paying for one of these with a decent set up? Any advice would be great,

Cheers.

Bodies, omex, manifold and mapping would cost you around £2k.

Anything with the word 'Stage' I would be very wary of, To get 195 bhp from the XU10J4RS engine need a fair amount of work unless which is quite often doctored figures

What throttle bodies are they? If they are a home brew I'd just steer clear.

To achieve 195 you'd need a decent set of bodies, say Jenveys for example, advanced/re ground/aftermarket cams, decent exhaust and a well mapped ecu.

There's no such thing as a stage 3 ecu. You map an aftermarket ecu such as omex, DTA etc to the engine and that's that.

If the car is 2k plus you'd be better off just buying yourself a good set of throttle bodies second hand ready to role.

It's advertised for £1100 and he keeps dropping the price, dunno if he's having no luck or maybe it is dodgey. He says they're jenvey bodies, I'll ask him what the craic is with the 'stage 3 ecu' awaiting more pics of the setup and I'll show yous see what you think.

Cheers for the help!
