Garage Heating

Recommended Posts

Garage starting to get a little damp, thinking about some background heating through the winter. Got to be electric and thermostatic, any recommendations?

Garage very drafty and no insulation

Insulation and draft proofing is the first thing to do before even thinking about heating, if not then your just wasting money even with background heat.

forgot to say as soon as the car is finished the garage is being demolished and replaced with a properly built one, so it's just a temporary measure

I think you would be better off with a dehumidifier, I have one and it works a treat draws loads of moisture out of the air.

True, but you'd be emptying it all the time unless it's an industrial one!

Paul, your build is surely good enough to warrant a carcoon, which would keep out any damp... and would be cheaper than trying to run heating or dehumidifiers....

Many domestic ones do come with the option to run a hose outlet to save emptying.

If it is that drafty, then you'd probably end up drawing in moisture from your street also
