Gti6 Thermostat :/

Recommended Posts

Sorry for starting another thread but I've searched and not got an answer!!

I was wondering what other people where using with their GTi6 engines; I have recently acquired another 205 GTi and wanted to finish the project off with new coolant hoses, possibly a new radiator and thermostat etc.

I took the housing off and it's not got a thermostat and the housing is covered in some kind of sealant so what thermostat do you guys use with, what looks like, the standard housing etc.

This will probably be the start of questions asked as I have had 1.6, 1.9, Mi16v but not a GTi6 before.

Are there any better water coolant pipes I could get and where from,?!

Thanks in advance,

Scott..

Just to clarify, you've got a 205 with an unfinished gti6 conversion?

Stick some pictures up of the arrangement you have there, there are a couple of different ways to do it, one retains the standard gti6 thermostat and elbow, with an alloy takeoff that clips in like the original hose, the other uses an alloy plate and a 205 thermostat cover.

Excellent, thanks Tom.. I knew they did some bits but not an actual coolant set for the conversion..

I have the engine fitted and running but just wanted to service it with oil, filter, new pipes, coolant, thermostat etc.

I'll get a pic up asap.

Thanks again

You can buy a Std Peugeot top hose which fits a treat and leaves plenty of room to use a Air filter on the TB, Others are short in comparison
