Which Is The Best Haynes Manual For The 205?

Recommended Posts

Hheppy

Hi,

I note there are a number of versions of this that are available.

I was always under the impression that the 83 to 93 was the best one, is that still correct, or is the 83 to 97 version slightly better?

many thanks

Andrew

The best one is the earlier "Workshop Owners Manual" versions. They took various information out on the later copies released under the "Service and Repair Manual" title.

The earlier one is better overall but the later one has the better wiring diagrams in my opinion - so i have both.

They both have things the other doesn't. The earlier ones have a lot more photos and cover a few things that aren't in the newer ones like the gearbox internals, and rebuilding the rear beam. However it doesn't cover any of the phase 2 changes, and all the 1.9 specific stuff is tucked away in the appendix rather than being mentioned in the main part of the manual.

I don't know when they changed the wiring diagrams, but both my old (83-93) and new (83-95) editions have the same ones.
