106 Fuel Filter.

Recommended Posts

Bobbafett

I've had issues with 205 fuel filters leaking on the bottom banjo. Put a new one in on the weekend and even with new washers I cannot get it to not leak.

So I bought a 106 GTi filter with the 2 inline points top and bottom, and after much strength and effort managed to get the lines all the way on and clamped up.

My only issue is the fact that the engine now appears to be pinking slightly? Am I right in thinking people have done this with Mi16s, so there should be no fuelling issues with this filter on an 8v (even though it is tiny compared to the standard one).

I am using a 106 one on my 2.0 turbo with no issues whatsoever.

Did you move the engine around whilst trying to get the new filter fitted? Wondering if you've a small crack in the exhaust manifold - which Mi's are prone to - as that can sound very similar to pinking with a metalic rattling/ticking sort of sound.

I've been using the standard filter for 8 years without issues.
