Bx Oil Level Sensor Dash Connector

Recommended Posts

Mornin' all,

In the next iteration of my 205 mi16 i intend to fit a set of BX 16v dials that i have acquired and as some of you may be aware the oil pressure gauge features a level function on ignition before switching to pressure after start up, similar to ZX's and 306 ph1's.

Now, i have no problem getting this working, it has been done by others before me and the information is out there regarding the wiring, the only slight issue i have is finding the relevant connector to attach the wiring to the oil level module on the back of the clocks.

Here is a picture of two versions of the oil level module i am talking about;

Obviously what i am trying to connect to can be seen in the bottom right.

My question is this; Does anyone have a picture of the connector i need, or perhaps a BX dash loom in their attic that you could take a picture of or maybe even cut the connector off for me in exchange for a small fee?

According to the wiring diagrams it is a 3pin, white connector.

Failing this i am sure i can rig up something but if i could see the actual, original connector then it will likely help me in the right direction, and i may even be able to find it in the elusive Citroen connectors catalogue. :wacko:

Cheers,

Sam

It is worth noting that, according to my research, any BX dash loom should have the relevant connector. It is not just limited to 16v models, even the low end models had a oil level function despite then not having the pressure gauge - the connector remains the same.

Thanks again.

Right, i think i've found the part number of the relevant connector - 654242, which is NFP.

I've managed to find a couple of dealers in Europe who have them in stock but to be honest i'll most likely just cut down one of the other instrument panel connectors from a spare loom to just three pins and see how it goes.

I'll update this periodically with the results.
