Front Springs - Coil Bound?

So I fitted some Eibach Pro-Kit springs, originally for a 106 gti ph2, to my 205 in an effort to account for the extra weight of the '6 engine.

 

Now, the ride height seems more or less what I was hoping for, but the top 2 and bottom 2 coils of the springs, on both sides of the car, are touching each other.

 

Is this normal? (I can't remember how my previous springs looked like at rest).

Pretty sure thats noramal.

 

Binding is when all the coils come together and cannot move anymore
