Epic Oveffuelling Gti6

Hey Guys.

Been trying to fix an serious overfuelling issue for about a year on a mates car. 93 1.9 with an gti6 motor and computer. Loom and ecu are from Miles

Have replaced Map, ICV, lambda, tps with no change in result.

Horrible to start, need about 50% throttle to get the car moving if not up to temp. Once warm is not too bad. Will hesitate an cut out between 2-3k revs then will take off again like a scalded cat!

Plugs are wet if taken out after a minute or so of driving and stinks of fuel like crazy. About 1mpg

Coolent temp sensor playing up? Or could it actually be the ecu itself?

Thanks in advance. Ive searched every topic on this and still cannot get to the bottom. The guy wants to kill me and the car!

If it's really as bad as you describe it, I'd check injector p/n and spray pattern. They may be leaking or previous owner may have installed larger injectors to gain "more power".

Injectors are Gti6 and have been cleaned.

Whats PN?

Sorry, i usually avoid using abreviations to avoid confusion - It's part number. Then I guess next thing is as other people have said the water temperature sensor.

You could swap out the coolant and inlet air temp sensors.

I would get it hooked up to peugeots pp2000 software and look at the live data, check fuel pressure as well.

Check the TPS is working/ set up correctly.

I had a 205 that was horrifically over fueling. It turns out it was reading wide open throttle the whole time.

I assume the gti6 one works in the same way

Edit, just re read it and you've checked the tps. Doh!

Did an ECU reset with the Coolant temp sensor unplugged. Bingo! She started much easier and then found solid idle rather quickly, no hunting etc.

Plugged it back in and went to s*it again!

Will replace and report back.
