What Discs With Gti6 Calipers?

Recommended Posts

I've heard it can be a guessing game as to which discs you choose. 206 180, gti6 or xsi discs? Is it true??

Use GTi-6 disks with GTi-6 calipers - direct fit to base model or 1.9 hubs. Simple.

I thought as much. The person I bought the calipers said on one rally car it had 180 discs with gti6 calipers, and it was a guessing game.

Cherrs

Cheers!

As long as they are actually 306 GTi-6 calipers, GTi-6 disks are what you need.

Where the issues stem from I suspect is where brakes are mis-advertised and certainly I've personally seen a few sets advertised as GTi-6 when they've actually been from something else, typically 307's.

ensure they are 57mm pistons and not 54mm pistons.

ensure they are 57mm pistons and not 54mm pistons.

That certainly helps, but 406 calipers look similar to GTi-6 and also have 57mm pistons, so it's not a foolproof way to ID '6 brakes.

406 calipers have a knobble thing by the brake hose, 306 ones don't.

both are lucas, gti180/307 are bosch.

Why take them back? Just positively identify them and buy the correct discs.

The gti180 are bosch, and have a 54 cast on them.... As said above.

Pad choice is poorer and generally more expensive for the 206/307 options for one.

Possibly Anthony, but whether your cars for road or track there is plenty options available, and not toooooo much $ in it.

Once I checked them, they are bosch. I've been promised a refund, so I'll keep looking. Thank you.
