I read that this light is also used as a generalised engine fault, is the 205 ECU advanced enough to error report if it thinks something is wrong with the engine in the car? Last night was the first time that is stayed on, the car was being a little sh*t with cutting out at a junction unless I descended gears numerically to slow the engine rather than say, being in 4th gear and stopping at the junction before changing back to 1st which would almost certainly cause it to just cut out without warning.

The car has had a history of head gasket failure, that is now behind it and the engine seems to be fine although the cold start idle is all over the place, the engine will shudder and cut out when first started if it's left to it's own devices. On warmer days, it's a decent car, on rainy evenings? Little red bastard.

I know that my engine manifold cover is missing that connects a foil like pipe from the AFM to the manifold, but surely this isn't causing the car to be troublesome and last night was the first time that light had come on for a journey, previously it only came on when starting the vehicle and went out. Bloody Peugeot petrol engines!

Miles

Engine Diag light on base spec 205's as the dash never had a Engine symbol, If it does log a fault you'll be lucky I;'d say as it's got the horrid ECU on there
