Rear Disc Brake Differences, Offset.

hello all, a few years ago i converted my drums to discs using the complete 306 set up. when i say complete i mean, stub axle, hub, caliper, calliper mount/bracket. didn't use the trailing arm but obviously the offset is a little wider that a standard 1.9 disc set up.

 

so i'm planning on doing this again to my cti how ever i don't want it winder as i noticed it did rub occasionally on the arches. what changes the offset from the 306 to the 1.9? the only thing i noticed is theres a spacer/washer that goes on the stub axle before the hub? is that all thats different? and obviously the discs.

 

any help would be great. thanks

What's different about the hubs? Apart from the abs ring. I couldn't see anything different between them apart from the washer/spacer that goes on in behind the hub on the stub.

its taller, 205 bearing has a spacer too.

It would be easiest just to use all matched 205 bits.

I've got a 306 disc beam sat outside my garage, so its the cheapest and easiest option currently tom.

 

its taller, 205 bearing has a spacer too.

 

i took some pics of some I've got spare tonight and i could only see the spacer being different.

the one on the left is a 306 hub with out the spacer and abs ring.

the middle one is a 205 hub with spacer

the one on the right is a 306 hub with spacer and abs ring.

 

the 2 spacers. one on the left is the 205 and the other is the 306

It is only easier to use 306 bits if you don't mind the extra width, which you have already said you don't want?

 

So I stand by what I said. If you want it narrow then it's easier to use all 205 bits.
