Ignition Coil Compatibility.

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

I recently bought an ignition coil for a 1.1 Peugeot 205 but when it arrived, it was for a different engine, I think mine might be Coil Pack rather than the design I bought, I can't really be assed to send it back since it was £6, my question is, will this fit other 205's? It's a FAE one and if I could use it on one of my other ones then it'd at least not be a waste of money :P

That's the badger, I bought it whilst at work via the parts compatibility thingy on eBay but turns out my particular 1.1 205 doesn't have this type of fitting, my GTi on the other hand does, but I assume it's not as easy as it being the same part if it fits?

It looks similar but the LT connector is different.

Damn, so no GTi compatibility then?

It might work if you change the connector on the loom but I don't think it's a good idea to use a coil of unknown spec with an ignition amp that AFAIK has built in dwell control.

I shall take your advise and not risk it I think.
