Doors Not Opening

hey guys,

 

just bought another STDT that's been sat for four years or so, the doors won't open for some reason, the boot is the only way into the car, the passenger door handle seems like there's nothing attached to it but the drivers side seems to have a stiffer action to it suggesting that perhaps the rods are connected as they should be...

 

The central locking activates when I pull and pish the pins, any advice?

Probably the levers that the rods attach to on the lock/latch mechanism have gone sticky.

 

If they're holding tension so that the levers don't fully release the door can jam shut.

 

Remove the doorcard, cover the lock/latch mechanism in WD40 and work all the levers/rods back and forth - that'll probably free it up.

Brilliant, sounds like it could be an easy fix then

 

I wasn't too keen on getting in the thing from the boot.
