Are Some Cars Just Unlucky?

Recommended Posts

Rich_p

Received a phone call from my Dad this evening, he is not a happy bunny.

He went to get in his Jag after work this evening and has found that someone has driven into one of the rear doors and dented & scrapped it down to metal. This was in his works car park.

It's the 3rd time it had been damaged while stationary, once was even on his drive way - we assume someone backed into it then drove off.

To add to all of those he got hit up the back by a young driver last year.

He is gutted as he loves that car.

Anyone else had an unlucky car?

I haven't, but my father in law's taxi (well, it's not actually his, he's one of two drivers for the owner) is really unlucky. It's like Trigger's broom, twice over, the amount of bits that have been replaced. In the last couple of years he's lost weeks worth of work due to mechanical failures and accidents. A month or two back he was hit up the arse by a lorry whilst stationary in traffic so it was off the road for two weeks. It had the window smashed twice in a few weeks by a gang of yoofs that have been targeting taxis. And about a year or so back they had a new night shift driver who, on his first outing, did a hit and run on a pedestrian resulting in my FIL getting arrested the following day and he taxi being impounded for about a week for forensic examination. And that's just a drop in the ocean amongst countless failures, inc a complete engine replacement.
