mrfirepro 127 1 Cars Posted October 4, 2014 Have got a scuttle panel that still has the two outer fixing holes in tact. As nearly all of these are cracked I was wondering what is the best way to stop them cracking in the future apart from not fitting it to the car any suggestions or ideas welcome
jackherer 543 Posted October 4, 2014 Fit a large diameter washer between the screw and the scuttle panel to spread the clamping force out.
dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted October 5, 2014 You could maybe fit a little bit of thin automotive double sided sticky tape/foam between the plastic and metalwork, at the corner fixings?
GLPoomobile 958 Posted October 5, 2014 Don't do the screws up tight. Use loctite to keep them in place but just nip them up lightly.
farmer 328 1 Cars Posted October 5, 2014 What I did on the grille bracket was fit a foam plain washer to act as a cushion
