Gti-6 Or 406 Coupe

Hi Everyone,

 

I have long been considering having my 1.9 cti upgraded to the GTI-6 engine, however to get all of the parts to do the swap is getting harder and harder. I would prefer to buy the whole car and do the transplant so I have everything to hand.

 

Having been looking for some months I noticed to buy a 406 coupe was quite cheap and packs a 3.0 V6 engine. I am now debating whether to go for this instead.

 

I am not mechanically minded and so would have to pay someone to carry out most if not all of the work. The way I see it if it is going to cost X amount I would rather pay a bit more and get the better bigger job done.

 

Is anyone on here able to perform either the GTI6 or 406 coupe upgrades for me and assuming I supply all the bits ie my car and chosen donor car? If so what sort of price range am I looking at? Are there any memebers you know who you would recommend and would be willing to undertake such a job ?

 

My 205 will always remain a road car I just fancied putting something in with more bite and a bit of a show case.

 

Is the 406 engine 3.0 V6 unpractical and ruin the drive of the car as a road car ? I would be keeping the original engine and bits so that if I ever come to sell I can give back the original engine and so restored to original.

Honestly, a V6 doesn't really fit! Need to a chop a few things.

 

From your description it sounds as though a gti6 conversion would suit you down to the ground, it's also maybe 1/4 of the price.

Also miles on here will do it the conversion as he runs pug racing,
