1.9 Hubs

Recommended Posts

Rolando

i stripped a 205 a few years ago which had 1.9 hubs and driveshafts but today when i dug them out to fit to my cti i remembered the hubs weren't the same. one of them i assume is from a 306 as its not the same i shape casting as the 205 uses and it had an abs sensor hole.

apart from them looking opposite to each other can i still use it or will it affect it having 2 different hubs? or can i remove the bearing and housing and fit that to a 1.6 hub so they match each other with the i shape casting?

thanks

306 hub will give positive camber on a 205.

The drive flange and bearing are the same as a 1.9.

1.6 hub uses a smaller bearing.

Ahh ok. So the casting it's self between the 1.6 and 1.9 are totally different?

yeh use the drive flange and bearing from the 306 hub and fit it on the 1.9 hub when i source one depending the condition of the bearing in the first place

you can't re-use bearings, they're cheap anyway.

Changing the subject slightly but I don't understand the logic for the taller offset on a 1.6. There is no advantage to it is there? If you where to change the drive flange for a base model would it give the same track as a 1.9? I just don't like the look of a 1.6 with the obvious difference in track front to rear unlike the 1.9.
