dcc 855 Posted October 14, 2014 Hey Sam Can you clear up what 217515 is? (a photo if you have 1!) As I understand the 217556 are dust protectors essentially to save the bushes as much as possible. I have offered 2 of these posted for £4, but if they're not essential and there's no need for them he could save a bit of ££ here! I do have them fitted to mine though. dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted October 14, 2014 Not got service box in front me, but I thought 217556 looked like blanks/stops for the ends of the shaft, so its nylon to nylon and not metal to nylon. As my shaft is new it has open ends, so I'd rather fit them
welshpug 1,661 Posted October 14, 2014 they dont fit the earlier plastic bushes dan, only the later type.
dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted October 14, 2014 Sam, I've put in an offer to an genuine new 210535 on the bay.
S@m 156 Posted October 14, 2014 Ah i see, i've not seen the hollow shafts that require 217556, but then i've never replaced or seen a brand new one - all the ones i've seen are solid. Dan - I've no idea what 217515 is to be honest, on Cit service it is only lsited for BX's up to April '89, which is long before the white bushes arrived and as such they seem unnecessary - it is not listed for any other model and even Peugeot only list them for earlier 205's and 405's. I've attached the Cit diagram below but i've never seen one in person, they are #10 in the diagram.
welshpug 1,661 Posted October 14, 2014 oh, that's just a bung on ball pivot BE1's.
dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted October 14, 2014 Item 10 is the bit that pokes into the box from underneath, that the bit inside the box clicks/screws into ? (I think)
welshpug 1,661 Posted October 14, 2014 no, nothing goes into it.

dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted October 14, 2014 Sam/Dan, can you do the bits as discussed above?
dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted October 24, 2014 Got the bits fitted today, so thanks chaps. Only had one issue lol, i managed to strip one of the three threads that hold the little shaft/seal thing on, but tapped it out to 8mm and all looks well. Cheers
dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted November 12, 2014 wondering if one of you can help me to help someone else out? Gonna give my spare 1.6 BE3 box to a guy with a 205gti6 who has a 1.9 BE3 box currently on it. I think you folks previously determined that my spare box was set up for "pull" clutch, (possibly to enable use of GTI6 clutch that the box was once married to.) and it has early BE cross shaft type clutch fork, Yellow bushes, longer pull fingers. His his car is a 1990 and i presume the box he has currently is original to the car. As the bushes in the box i'm giving him are yellow, would he need new yellow or white bushes, with his own fork/arm? (he's gonna replace the clutch/release bearing etc) Tia
welshpug 1,661 Posted November 12, 2014 match the bushes to the arm.

dobboy 231 2 Cars Posted December 1, 2014 Does this look like the correct clutch cable that will take my BE1 pedal to the VTS box (that i've previously put the BE3 clutch gubbings on to?) It was advertised as such, the pedal end looks the same as i've got, but i've never seen what the box end of a BE3 cable looks like. Cheers
welshpug 1,661 Posted December 1, 2014 yup thats spot on for a pre 90 be3 205 or 309.
welshpug 1,661 Posted December 1, 2014 its not specifically a "be1" pedal btw, same one used by the ma box before 1990

Robbiedundy 58 4 Cars Posted October 13, 2016 Hi currently in the middle of this myself and trying to make sense of it, sorry if this is a stupid question, what is the reason for converting the box to push type? I have a be4 vts box which I think hasn't been touched yet and is still pull type
