309 Fog Light Alternative?

Recommended Posts

Loose Hand Luke

Hi all.

I'm trying to find an alternative set of fog lights to fit to my 309 instead of expensive originals.

I got hold of a gti bumper but it came without the fogs.

Has anyone got any ideas?

At the very least could someone measure an original light for me so I know the size?

Cheers guys.

If you have the bumper you know how big the lamps need to be :D

I am sure I have some blanks that go in the holes to cover them up.

Only do two of the holes though, genuine parts.

Microline do some that are a reasonable fit apparently.

They won't look as good as the originals obviously but are acceptable by all accounts.

I have a set of 4 scabby ones that I recently replaced if you want to make me an offer on these. They will need taking apart and painting etc. They come with the 4 housings too but some of the clips/fittings inside are missing.

There are a bigger supply of these in France so ebay.fr may be your best best.

Some people on the 309 Forum use Ring Microlines as a cheap alternative.

Edit, beat me to it!

Thanks for the help guys.

I thought aboud just measuring the holes but wasn't sure what the originals fitted like.

I'm happy to fit items that aren't 100% orignal looking as its not a real Gti. Just don't like empty holes! :-)

Edit: will check out some microlines. I'll have to look up the sizes they do.

Farmer, how much would you want for the blanks?
