Gti6 Engine Mount. Best Way Of Loosing Weight...

Whats the best way of loosing weight? The thing must weigh close on 15kg.....

 

Do I have any options? I'd rather like to keep my PAS though.

Get the grinder out. Or make a hybrid mount using S16 bits. Check my build thread fairly early on.

Use the full s16 mount, much lighter but you'll need the s16 pipework alternator and possibly pump, steel sump required too as the bracket won't clear a gti6 sump flange.

 

8v alternators fit the s16 mount.

 

or there's the rarer 605 xu10 alloy top bracket which you'd use a 405 1.9 mi top arm with

I used a standard S16 one and cut the gti6 one down to retain the bottom lug so I could mount the alternator like so:
