Sensors For Refurb

Hi

 

I am slowly, bit by bit restoring my 205....I know the coil and amplifier need replacing, so does the TPS....

 

But as part of a rebuild, what are the sensors/electrical bits I should consider refreshing as part of the job?

 

I know some parts may not specifically need replacing immediately, but really want to sort as much as I can.

 

So far I have:

 

Ignition coil
Amplifier
Throttle Position Sensor...

A new ECU CLT sensor never does any harm.And along with the AFM,they would be the most important sensors of all.Distributors are also key.

Good un-messed with AFM's are getting thinner on the ground now.New ones can still be had but can be very expensive.

From my experience I'd focus more on replacing wiring throughout. So far all the faults I've found have been down to the wiring rather than sensors.

 

However, if you really want all new sensors as well...all the temperature and pressure sensors. Possibly the reverse and brake switches but as long as they work then there's little point. Same goes for the other sensors though I guess.

the only parts I would specifically replace or get remanufactured/refurbished are the afm and distributor, the TPS is just a switch, easy to test, rarely do the temperature senders fail but they can be tested easily as well, the resistances are in the Haynes workshop manual.
