Twin Carbs

Recommended Posts

matty205xs

iv been looking at buying some twin carbs for my 1.4 xs to give it a bit of extra power and to get that awesome noise of it from the carbs, which would you recommend the twin 40s or 45s also where would you recommend I can find some fairly cheap ones or does anyone have some they are wanting to sell at a reasonable price.

thanks matt.

40's or even smaller would suffice on 1360cc, IIRC the 1293 TU24 ran a pair of DCOM 40's with 34mm chokes at 103 bhp.

Im running twin 40 DCOMs on my 1360.

I would recommend getting some 40 DCOE 151 as I think these are the latest webers and parts wil be easy to find. I have also found it difficult to find people who know how to tune the DCOMs, the DCOEs are much more common so should be ok.

I've got a pair of weber DCOE 40's currently on a 1.9 8v that i am looking at selling. They come without trumpets but aside from that are all good and are on a currently running engine so haven't been sat around gathering dust.

I am unsure of value since i have never really been into carbs, they jsut came on a car i bought, lets say about £220 plus postage.
