Adding Pins To Door Plug

Recommended Posts

cRaig

I'm trying to add three pins to one of the phase 2 door plugs- I'm sure I vaguely remember someone on here mentioning that they had done it (utilising pins from a 306 or similar door plug) however, I cant work out how to get into the plug, as it seems quite rubbery/sealed for life.

Anyone have any thoughts? Or is it possible to buy new styles of these plugs from VWP or similar?

Cheers

Craig

Good news! After tramping round a wet and muddy scrapyard, it turns out that Citroen Xsara Picasso rear doors use exactly the same size and spec plug, except it comes with a handy removable rubber cover, held on with a cable tie, rather than being bonded on! :) One problem solved!

That's useful to know. What pins do they use? Are they the same as junior power timers? i.e. injector plugs etc.

Do you know if the pins are available anywhere? Because the 205 plug is filled with silicone, I don't think I can get the pins out of the plug without damaging them, would be a neater job if I could just cut the wires and re-terminate with pins.

Would it be worth looking on citroen service box and trying to identify them? I shall have a look..

Another result!

I will order a pack tomorrow at my local Citroen dealer, and will keep you posted :)

Have cross referenced with the 205 fitings service box, and its the same part as per the 205 door pins as well. 6542 R2 62p inc VAT. Not listed as NFP, so fingers crossed!

Yeah both sides are the same I think but there are at least two gauges shown iirc.

Yep, I've measured the ones out of the plug I've disassembled, and they are 3mm, which is the part number above :)
