Timing Hole Crank Pulley

rebuilding 1.9 gti D6B donkey... regarding the Crank pulley.. which hole is for the timing dowel ? --the 10mm braced hole or the 8mm non-braced hole to the left of it ?

the 10mm one from memory.

 

whichever one places the woodruff key in this position -

Cheers for that Welshpug. ALL pistons are mid stroke.. about to refit the head. I'm a bit confused about the camshaft postion. I know I have to locate the camshaft pulley with dowel hole lined up ( at 7 o'clock postion) ...but which valves shoud be rocking ?
