Has Anyone Had Problems With Proflex Cannisters

Ok so the boss has had some proflex for his rally car now it is second hand but supposedly rebuilt before purchase. Now the problem I'm getting is when turning lock to lock the cannisyer pipes are sticking , for example if I turn left the union turns with the insert as it should, but when you then lock it right the union/insert stays in that position. So as you keep turning lock to lock the remote cannister pipe gets wrapped arounfd the strut body. This is bloody frustrating I have lubricated the top spring pan in case it was sticking causing the issue but still the same, it does this with or without weight on it has anyone come across this before?
