Bonnet Height Adjuster Seized!

Recommended Posts

matty205xs

hi, iv currently been trying to adjust the height of my bonnet when its closed as it sits far too low, iv tried the screw on the bonnet and that's completely seized and the screw head just seems to be getting mangled so I decided to stop before its too bad. has anyone got any idea of how to get this off? also is it ok to paint the inside of your bonnet with underseal or is hammerite a better option without it getting too hot when the engine running?

thanks matt.

Have you loosened the nut at the other end of the spring first?

Mine did the same, a wee bit heat with a blow torch and away it went.

New ones are available or should be from Peugeot if required

right ok thanks, but is the nut that the screw screws into not welded onto the bonnet bit?

No nothing welded to bonnet on that part, just screwed in.

I have a new one in my loft I can take a photo of as it looks off a car if needed?
