205 Engine Swap Question

My mate has a 406 2.0l on a 2001 clutch has gone he's offered me the car for scrap value my question is would it be much work to dump the old 1.9 8v and fit the 2.0 16v as I have the whole car ecu the lot and would there be much of a noticeable power increase as it always seems to make a difference the 205 it would be going in is a phase 1 cheers

There's a bit of work fitting the ew10j4 engine to a 205 I.e. custom engine mounts etc. I believe as standard is slightly more powerful than the 1.9 and has great potential for tuning. Search for Sandy's 'embrace the ew'thread, all the info you need is in there really.

 

If you decide to pass it on I might be interested in the engine, probably shouldn't as I've not even finished my current 205 haha.
