What 200Mm Clutch ?

What 200mm clutch do people use in relatively high output NA engines ?

I was out on the Tyneside Stages over Otterburn on Sunday and retired with a clutch problem. Got it all apart last night and the clutch cover has failed – the diaphragm has completely separated from the pressure plate and various bits of the rivets and straps that are supposed to hold them together were found on the sump guard. The clutch came with the engine so I’m not sure of the spec – it’s a cerametallic paddle and I have a vague recollection of being told it’s a standard cover. Given that it lasted 323 stage miles from new I’m wondering if it’s up to the job of transmitting 150 lb ft of torque to my Dunlop slicks, especially as the co-driver reckons I’m pretty easy on the clutch.

Hence the question what do you use ?

Thanks in advance.

I believe most use the 215mm flywheel and the 1.9 MI16 clutch, though unusual for the pressure plate to give up, I would try another standard cover, either 8v or n-a diesel.

might be worth asking Sandy what his TU5's run as they're all on 200mm or smaller and similar power outputs to your EW5, I believe Helix and AP are popular.

I know this doesn't help with 200mm but Iv'e never had an problem with standard 215mm Mi16 clutch kit. Iv'e done 15+ trackdays / races on a LUK clutch and only changed it due to having the box off again, it looked like new! I'm about same torque as you.
