How Rare Are C Reg Gti's

Recommended Posts

carmike

Got told of a white gti for sale fairly local so followed it up and bought it , I took it for spares for my H plater but now it's home it seems unfair to cannibalise it for spares . It drove onto my trailer but runs rough probably due to lying a few years . Body is not too bad for a C reg car . Just wondered if it was a rate car nowadays as seem to see plenty E upwards for sale about the net . Cheers

The early ones rusted a lot more so they are very rare without rot. It depends what you mean by "not bad" but if its solid it is definitely worth saving. What is the interior like? The seats and plastics are hard to find for early cars.

Roon

I thought it was the other way around? Later cars were more prown thanks to peugeot cheaping out.

Mines a D and doesn't have a patch

Miles

Not that Rare but being 1.6 are not worth a huge amount, but again not a huge amount can be swapped over anyway, Engine can be if after April 1986 and BE1 box

I'm also in Inverness and could do with a front wing and some interior bits for my D plate 1.9 if you do break it?

Can I pop round for a look?

I am not breaking it Paul . Owner found the history and old mots and the cars 66k miles is genuine . All adds up so it's getting a mini resto once I finish the Rs turbo . Cheers

Quite right!

Mine is far too good to break too, It's got a Gti-6 engine so is not really original so I might end up removing a lot of the trim anyway.
