Mi16 Oil Leak Behind Distributor

Hi

 

I had recently noticed some oil inside my distributor cap all around inside it. I cleaned the oil and took the car for a 10 mile spin. I came back and again checked and found oil inside the distributor cap.

 

The engine had a top end refresh recently just a few weeks ago. All top end gaskets, cam seals etc were changed with good branded items.

 

Will this likely be a leaking cam seal that will need to be looked at? Or does anyone know whether the intake camshaft has oil flowing through inside it - so could it be that the leak is coming from the bolt that secures the plate to the camshaft where the rotor arm sits. I am not sure where this has come from as the oil is very clear and all round the dizzy cap.

 

Any thoughts or recommendations will be appreciated.

No oil flow through a 1.9 Mi16 camshaft.

 

Most likely to be the cam seal, but could possibly be weeping through between the head and cam bearing cap or from the cam cover and dribbling downwards.
