Power Steering Pump Broken Bracket

Recommended Posts

PhilNW

is the alloy bracket which bolts to the engine prone to breaking where the bottom bolt securing the pump is located?

Noticed the pump had come loose a couple of road rallies ago, bracket lug had sheared off, bolts come out and steel bracket at other end had cracked, Required a new alloy bracket (managed to weld the steel bracket at the other end).

Now noticed that the alloy bracket has gone again in the same place after only a couple of events (maybe the whites have done it) but all bolts in tact and secure

Cant imagine that a vibration on the PAS pump or pulley would have been sufficient to cause it

Any thoughts about what has caused it and ways to strengthening it?
