Mi16 Aux Belt

Recommended Posts

potter55

Got a mi16 in my 205 and the aux belt was snapped, has anyone got an idea on what to get as a replacement from a motor factors as I can't seen to source one, it just comes off the bottom pulley to the alternator.

Cheer

Tim

You need a 5PK700 from memory, it's a generic belt.

It just means 5 grooves and 700mm long, a 205 GTI belt will fit and work fine and they are one groove less, 4PK700 IIRC

Depends on what Alt is being used, so check that before ordering the belt, so as above it would either be 5pk700 or 4pk etc

Yes, that's a good point, if the alternator pulley has one less groove than the engine pulley you have an 8V alternator and you need an 8V belt, although in a pinch you can run a razor blade around an Mi16 belt to remove a groove.

Cheers for that I think it's an 8v alternator so will get a belt and try it.
