Wife Wants A Different Car

Recommended Posts

Peetypug

Ayup.

The wife has told me she no longer wants the Leon that she has at the minute.

She has her heart set on an Audi TT, but I'm unsure as to whether it's a car I want us to buy.

So, 4k to spend, must be less than 7 years old and have a bit of poke about it.

Is that £4k + the Leon?

Not looked at prices, but £4k for a <7 yr old TT might be a tall order!

Less than 7 years would make it a mk2. You'll be looking at more like £8 - £10k for a good mk2.

Sorry should have been clearer.

She's happy with an older TT, but I'm not sure I want her to have one.

So any other car, £4k plus the 07 plate leon TDI SPORT.

So probably £9k total.

Keys problems with an M3

1. She is a woman

2. I'd want to drive it

3. She is a woman

4. She struggles to drive front wheel drive car in the wet, an M3 would kill her

5. She is a woman

sounds like you'll be getting a TT then :D (or just get a golf, same thing but more practical...)

Nissan 350 Z - Similar style car to a TT

VW Bora - basically a mk4+ saloon golf (like the Jetta was to the mk3). Nice looking cars. Bit of poke and practical.

Honda Civic Type R or Type S

Can't think of many other cars i'd have in that price range AND less than 7 years old. You can get a lot of car for 4k if you get older than 7 years :)

what about a new style mx-5? so much more fun than a TT and just as 'girly'

(I secretly want one)

You could just about get an RCZ for that. From a driving perspective i think I'd rather have that over the tt.

Or

Speno will soon be selling his Z4 coupe. Awesome looking cars, hold value really well and even my wife could drive mine quick in the wet without crashing it.
