Exhaust Manifold Options/power Upgrade

Evening all,

 

After doing some research, it seems that the standard exhaust manifold on the S16 engine is not brilliant so I am looking to upgrade. So firstly, is a manifold from a gti6 or mi16 going to fit and are they any better?

 

I am looking for some performance enchancement for mild track use so a performance set of cams, a better manifold and a re-map should be a good start. Any recommendations?

firstly, it IS an MI16 engine, just a 2.0 variant.

 

however no a gti6 manifold will not fit, ports are a different shape and studs are slightly different pattern.

 

most of the 4 branch units made for the 1.9 wont fit so well in the shell due to the extra 11mm in height the iron block has but they usually are drilled for the 1.9 and 2.0 stud patterns.

No one does a direct fit manifold for these engine's, Even thou they are listed for it. the flanges will fit both types of head, 1.9 & 2.0, so you would have to modify it slight, the bend is a little more and that's it also shell dependant too.

 

It does make a nice gain, only comparisons I have done are on the 1.9 but with and without see's a good 10bhp with a mild tune engine

 

PS, I don't sell any maniflow stuff
