Open Bonnet When Cable Has Snapped?

Hi guys,

 

The bonnet cable snapped on my 205 recently, right where it connects to the latch at the front of the bonnet.

 

I meant to sort this but in a moment of sheer forgetfulness I slammed the bonnet shut and now obviously I can't get the bloody thing open again.

 

Can anyone offer any advice on how I can now get the bonnet open please?

What engine is in it? If its an 8v you should just about be able to reach up from underneath and operate the lever. Rather more problematic with a 16v though and you'll often need to resort to going through the grill

It's a 1580cc automatic (F reg). Totally standard
