Pas Alternator Mounting Bracket Question

Recommended Posts

futura

On my 1991 1.9 205 gti, I have retrofitted a complete PAS system that I took from a 1989 1.6 205 gti.

However I had to chop off part of the alternator/pump mounting bracket where the oil filter goes. This is because on the 1.6 the oil filter bolts directly on the engine block, but on the 1.9, due to the oil radiator, the aluminium oil pipe hub comes between the filter and the engine block, this eats up space and the mounting bracket won't fit.

How did Peugeot fit the alternator/pump bracket on this setup?

I was thinking they would use a differently shaped mounting bracket, but I have never seen one, anyone knows?

They used a remote water/oil cooler and oil filter on PAS 1.9s that put it over by the gearbox out of the way.post-71-1197337919.jpg

Did they not also use a different oil sandwich plate with the pipes at a different angle on some earlier 1.9's? I am sure I've seen PAS 1900 cars without the water heat exchanger.
