Some Bulbs Behind Clocks Not Working

Recommended Posts

scbond

Ok, some of the bulbs behind the clocks aren't working as well as the LCD clock bulb and can't even see a bulb for the cigarette lighter. The bulbs that don't come on are at least one of the dial background lights and the oil temperature warning light. Tried new bulbs and swapping with known good ones and they still won't work.

Any suggestions? Ideally not replacing the clocks or the circuit films on the back

If it was the fuse wouldn't they all go out? All the fuses are good anyway.

Circuit ribbon interconnects probably, they have plastic plugs and also some tiny bolts that hold them together to make the circuit, theres a few so I would start there

Ok. Do you know how replaceable the ribbons are?

It's fiddly but doable. They probably don't need replacing though, tightening the nuts/bolts up will probably do it if that is the problem. If they do need replacing it would probably be easier to just swap your speedo into some working clocks (or just fit the working clocks if you don't care about mileage.)
