Hi guys,

 

i destroyed my diff and the gearbox housing, i have brought a vts gearbox to replace it, i have the complete vts gearbox, what do i need to do with the diffs? do i need to swap them or something?

Ideally you want to fit the 205 diff into the VTS gearbox, using the VTS crownwheel on the 205 diff.

 

The other option, which I don't personally like, is using a 306/Xsara inner NSF CV on a 205 'shaft.

Thanks i thought so, how come you have to use a 205 diff? is it cos the driveshafts dont fit?

Yes - the 205 N/S inner CV won't engage fully in the 306/Xsara diff.

 

Hence needing to either change the diff or make a mongrel 'shaft to fit by using the 306/Xsara inner CV mated to a 205 'shaft and outer CV.

ahh so when the driveshafts are inserted the n/s one will not fully engage in the hole, i have plenty of pug driveshafts at mine and i think i go a couple of 306 ones, what model do they need to be off?

I think you'll find the xsara gearbox ratios a bit short for a turbo engine.

 

you also need to swap the gear selector arm
