Motul 300V 15W50 For Mi16?

Recommended Posts

Have done the running in and it's time to put some good oil in.

Was looking at Motul 300V competition 15w50. Any experience or comments? My friends that have raced Mi16s for a decade swear by it, just not sure about the viscosity.

The engine is a freshly rebuilt Mi16 with new liners, rings, shells, refurbed head, 13 row oil cooler, PTS sump baffle and will see the ring this fall.

I've been using 300V 15w50 in my track Mi16 and had no issues with it (the oil or the engine). Engine sees 78-8000rpm constantly & the 2 times I've inspected the big end bearings there's been no wear and no material in the oil filters I've cut open for inspection.

I've been changing it about every 4 events.

The only warning I got from my oilman was not to let it get too hot.

I swear by Titan Fuchs* Pro R 15w50. Quite expensive but works well for mine and customer engines.

*used to be called silkolene
