New Bbm Top Mounts

i have been fitting these today and am having a few issues and wondered if anyone else had fitted them yet, im not sure if i have them fitted correctly as i dont know if i need different spring seats or if they just sit under the mounts, il send bbm an email just wondered if anyone had any advice from previous experiences

also got some pics il put up shortly

and there gaz coilovers if this helps

i was unable to fit this bolt as the spring plate is in the way this is what makes me think iv done something wrong

The spring seat needs to seat on the bearing and allow it to spin and move freely, as long as it does you should be fine.

You should have some washer/spacers sandwiching the bearing really. Are any supplied in the kit?

no none are supplied although i think it needs something in-between the spring and the mount to give clearance for the other bolt to be fitted

That bolt also fouls the under side of the strut tower when fitted.

 

Strange design. Looks like I will have to drill out a hole to allow for the head of the bolt to come through allowing the top mount itself to sit flush to the strut tower.

 

Pretty frustrating really considering how expensive they are!

A single additional hole and a taller top spring pan or a spacer to clear the nut.

Why not put a hex head bolt in the other way up with the nut on top?

Ive got no problem with clearence the spring pans.

 

Ill just drill a hole in the srut tower accommodate it.
