It's worth checking the earth on the front panel but I don't think that would explain the lack of dash light.

The only time I ever had a similar problem was a mates 205 and it turned out to be a wire on one of the multiplugs on the rear of the fuseboard was loose. However it was because the car had been fitted with extra high wattage bulbs at some point in the past which had melted the connector.

You'll need to get a multimeter and check for voltage at various points, lights, stalk, fuse box etc and narrow it down that way.

just put power into the back of the light (the top pin of the 3 pin plug) and both headlight come on aswell as rear side lights and light on the dash so they all work just need to find out why the stalk cant turn them on

OK so as you've already ruled the stalk out you know that power isn't getting to the stalk.

You need to work backwards now, is there power at the fuse in the fusebox? If there is then there is a break in the wire between the fusebox and the stalk. Like I said you need to narrow it down until you find a break or bad contact.

ok so there has been an improvement the lights now work although i did nothing to influence this they just started working again. so i have a dodgy connection somewhere but now trying to find it when they work is going to be even harder, so now im off to find somewhere that sells multimeter on a sunday.

aslo when you have the lights on the n/s indicator dose not work but when you turn the lights off it dose, so looks like a day of testing for me today
