Get everything spotlessly clean with brake cleaner. Apply good quality rtv silicone, I favour the Wurth stuff.

Bolt the covers down, leave at least 12 hours for the rtv to fully cure before you run the engine.

Threebond gasket cement. Great stuff.

Loads on ebay or similar.

Have you still got the old seal on there? if not then the amount of RTV needed is huge so I'd look for some used covers, But another Vote for the Wurth stuff, never let me down on anything

If they don't have factory seals you will be sealing them often. Covers with seals won't need any sealant at all. I do have a pair of shot blasted covers here with factory seals if you are thinking on replacing them.

Right thanks for the help! Managed to seal it well using some better quality sealent and a bit of extra time making sure it was nice and thick and even around it all and it seems to have done the job for now! But if I do have anymore trouble il probably be looking for some used gaskets so I might drop you a message stef205 if it all goes tits up!

Has nobody ever tried to make these? It seems odd you can get aftermarket ones on such a wide variety of other engines!
