Hand Brake Cables

Quick question. Fitting new cables onto my 1.6. I think the ones that were on there were the wrong ones. Which side does the longer cable go on?

I can never remember this, but if you look at the cable routing on the fuel tank you will see one takes a more direct route than the other, due to the exhaust. The more direct one being the shorter of the 2.
